Casio has some great point and shoot cameras on the market. They’re not one of the bigger names you think of when you think pro cameras, but at CES 2008 they’ve unveiled something which no other camera manufacturer has… a digital camera which shoots up to 1,200 frames per second. Beat THAT!
To be honest, however, the EXILIM Pro EX-F1 from Casio can fire this kind of speed only in video and when it drastically rezzes down to a 336×96 image. You can also reduce the framerate to 600 or 300 frames, or do a 60 frame per second burst in still camera mode at the full 6 megapixel resolution.
Still, if you’re into seeing a slow motion popping of a balloon or watching all your explosions a la Mythbusters style high speed camera – this is likely your thing. Should come in at the $999 price range. [via Gizmodo]
