You heard me. A solar powered camera bag.
I know you’re smacking your forehead right about know going “Why didn’t I think of that”, but the truth of the matter is – you didn’t, and Eclipse Solar Gear did.
The bag itself looks like your average Tamrac or Lowepro affair, but it has a crafty secret. On the top of bag, the outside of the lid is actually a solar panel that lets you charge your camera (or any other portable device).
Here it is from their product page:
The ‘Nova’TM Solar Camera / Gear Bag gives the photographer an extra power source in the great outdoors. The large cavity bag can handle a digital SLR camera and 3 lenses with room for more accessories. The bag features adjustable dividers and foam to customize the interior to fit your specific camer gear needs.
The top cover features a light-weight, flexible solar charging mocule that can be utlized using your existing 12V auto adapter. Charge your camera batteries or AA batteries using the proper charging unit made for particular digital camera.
This would be ideal for anyone who shoots a lot outdoors, though a solar panel this size likely would take a while to charge a couple of AA batteries to their full capacity. Still, it’s better than not having any power at all.
